Distribution characteristics and influencing factors of arsenic in the soil around a coking plant in Jiangsu Province
In order to find out the current distribution of soil arsenic pollution around a coking plant in Jiangsu Province, and explore the relationship between arsenic enrichment at different soil deeths and production and geological background,447 sample points were set up inside the plant to collect a total of 1 313 soil samples at 3 depths less than 8.5 m.A total of 119 soil samples at 7 depths less than 8.5 m were collected from 18 sample points from 4 profiles outside of the coking plant. The results showed that arsenic exceeded the standard in all soil layers in the study area, and its content and distribution range increased gradually from the surface to the deep inside and outside the coking plant. The overall As contamination rate in the soil outside the plant is higher than that within the plant. The content of arsenic in the shallow surface soil around the plant is positively correlated with the distance from the plant, and the linear relationship is significant.Part of the arsenic in the shallow surface soil comes from the coking plant production, and the migra-tion path is atmospheric deposition. With the increase of distance, the degree of influence is smaller. The shallow soil is more affected by the coking plant, while the deep soil arsenic mainly comes from the parent material. The overall soil arsenic in the study area is sig-nificantly affected by the geological background, and the concentration of arsenic in the surface soil of the coking plant and the sur-rounding area is related to the production of the coking plant. It is more scientific and reasonable to consider the production of the co-king plant and the geological background comprehensively in the As contamination investigation and treatment.
