Interaction between"Studies"and the"Fields":Value,Challenge and Guarantee of the School Running by Professor-titled Principals
Under the impetus of educational sentiment and the call of knowledge initiative,university professors transcend the boundary between the ideal and the reality.They step out of their"studies"and ven-ture into the"fields"to take on the role of principals in primary and secondary schools,leading the develop-ment of these schools with their distinctive academic spirit and managerial wisdom.The assumption of the posi-tion of principals in primary and secondary schools by university professors entails unique value connotations.By leveraging the theories from the"studies"to reconstruct the practices in the"fields"and enabling the edu-cational practical experiences in the"fields"to nourish the academic spiritual realm of the"studies",a recip-rocal relationship is established.Nevertheless,during this process,professor-titled principals are confronted with a series of challenges,such as perplexity in the transformation of identity roles,vacillation in dual man-agement and assessment,and uncertainties regarding balanced development in the future.It is thus proposed that institutions of higher education should construct cultivation and training platforms,establish long-term safeguard mechanisms,and blaze multiple development trails,so as to offer essential support and guarantees for professor-titled principals.
