Making Teacher Development a Key Driver of School Change
The development of the times is increasing the expectations and demands on education, and schools must undergo profound changes to shift to a more flexible, diversified and sustainable education system. However,at a time when there is an urgent need for all parties to strengthen collaboration to deepen the change, subtle relationship changes have been occurred among teachers, parents, and students, making it difficult to promote the deeper development of school change. The root of the problem lies in the biased under-standing of teachers, from teacher development, teacher management to various affairs in school change, often ignoring the potential of teachers as the main body, mistakenly believing that the impetus for school change mainly comes from the outside, and the purpose of teacher development is to make up for their own shortcomings.Being influenced by multiple factors, the behavior of teachers continue to be regulated, and their professionalism and subjectivity are constantly being weakened. In this regard, the relationship between school change and teacher development should be re-examined,fully recognizing that"school change"and"teacher development"are two sides of the same coin, with the former's impetus coming mainly from the inner part and the latter's aim of making a breakthrough for itself. The two sides can be mutually reinforced to achieve a more harmonious and effective educational environment, thus ensuring that education returns to its nature.
