Traits and Implications of Change Leadership of Rural Female Principals
Using change leadership as an entry point, this study conducted in-depth interviews with five female principals who had work experience in rural schools. The results show that rural female principals ex-hibit change leadership traits which are different from the traditional model:their leadership pays more atten-tion to emotions and caring for students;is more flexible and communicative;is both effective and courageous as a combination of male and female leaders;and is prominent in non-authoritarian leadership. The rooting and development of change leadership of rural female principals are reflected in their youth life experiences and ca-reer development, which cannot be separated from the help of those important others. The change leadership of rural female principals has had a positive impact on promoting the development of rural schools, facilitating the professional development of rural teachers, and facilitating the holistic development of students.
