Effect of rare earth Ce on magnetic properties of medium grade non-oriented silicon steel without normalizing process
The effect of the rare earth Ce on the magnetic properties of medium-grade non-oriented silicon steels without normalizing process is investigated.Mechanism of influence with Ce on inclusions and texture and magnetic properties is analyzed. The results show that the magnetic properties reach the optimum when annealed at 1000 ℃,and the magnetic properties of 0.006%Ce steels are significantly improved compared steels without Ce.The ratio of{100} texture in the annealed plates of Ce-containing experimental steels increases, and the ratio of {110} and {111}texture changes insignificantly, resulting in the increase of texture factors. The inclusions in medium-grade non-ori-ented silicon steels without normalizing process with an appropriate amount of Ce added are denatured and spherical-ized,and the precipitation of MnS in the steel can be effectively suppressed because of the high activity of Ce.
