The mass concentrations of the atmospheric particulates (PM2.5and PM10) and chemical components of PM2.5 were observed continuously from january 12 to 22, 2018, in Xuzhou urban. We analyzed the characteristic of mass concentration variations of PM2.5 and meteorological causes of heavy air pollutions process(HAPP) from meteorological data. Results showed that the meteorological conditions such as static, low wind speed and high humidity, caused severe or severe pollution of 182 hours between january 15(9:00 am)and 22(22:00 pm).During the HAPP,the average mass concentration of PM2.5 was 195.5 μg/m3 and of PM10 was 248.1 μg/m3,and ρ(PM2.5)/ρ(PM10) was 0.656~0.938,indicating that the HAPP was dominated by fine particles. The mass concentrations of OC,EC,SO42-,NO3- and NH4+ in PM2.5 were 17.0,7.62,31.0,62.3 and 31.8 μg/m3,respectively,with each component accounting for 8.70,3.90,15.8,31.9 and 16.3 percent of PM2.5,respectively,representing 0.62,0.53,1.49,1.32 and 1.30 times during the non-heavy air pollution period.During the period of heavy pollution and non-heavy pollution, there was a clear correlation between ρ(OC)and ρ(PM2.5),which was 2.11 and 2.29 respectively, the results indicating a significant secondary generation of organic carbon.ρ(OC)/ρ(EC)was 2.26 and 2.16 respectively, indicating that the new urban area was more affected by motor vehicle exhaust. So we should strengthen the control of vehicles in the new city of Xuzhou and surrounding areas, and reduce the emissions of nitrogen oxides and organic carbon.
