Implementation of Contaminated Soil Remediation Project in a Smelting Plant
The implementation process of a project for the remediation of contaminated soil in a smelter plant in the Yangtze River Delta region was introduced. The soil contaminant was heavy metals, which was remediated using off-site solidification and stabilization and ceramsite kiln/brick kiln co-processing technology. After remediation, the concentrations of copper, zinc, lead, and cadmium at the site reached their cleanup target values. After solidification and stabilization, the leaching concentration of the soil reached the Class III standards of the GB/T 14848-2017"Quality Standard for Ground Water",and then was transported to ceramsite kiln/brick kiln co-processing.The leaching standards for the co-processing products met the GB 30760-2014"Technical Specification for Co-processing of Solid Waste in Cement Kilns".This project achieved complete remediation of contaminated sites using smelting plant and beneficial resource utilization of soil.
