Research Status in Mercury and SO3 Purification Technology for Zinc Smelting Flue Gas
The flue gas from smelting process contains high concentration of sulfur dioxide(SO2)and different forms of mercury, accompanied by high concentration of sulfur trioxide(SO3).Without proper control, the mercury in the flue gas will be easily dispersed into other media and cause secondary pollution. The root cause of waste acid is SO3,and the influx of mercury aggravates the difficulty of waste acid treatment. With the increasingly strict emission standards of non-ferrous smelting industry, the control of mercury and SO3 have become an urgent problem in smelting industry.Based on the characteristics of mercury and SO3 emissions from zinc smelting flue gas,and by summarizing the transformation of mercury forms and pollutant distribution patterns,as well as the research progress of mercury and SO3 pollution control technologies in the smelting industry,a control strategy for dry capture of mercury and SO3 in flue gas is proposed.
