The greenhouse effect caused by the increase of CO2 content in the atmosphere has attracted much attention.Soil CO2 emission is one of its main sources, and nitrogen deposition(especially nitrogen form)plays an important role in soil CO2 emission. The relationship between nitrogen forms and soil CO2 emission was discussed from three aspects:ecosystem type, geographical area and nitrogen application method. The results showed that the response of soil CO2 emissions to different forms of nitrogen in typical ecosystems in China was uncertain, showing promotion, inhibition or no significant effect. In general the promoting effect of mixed nitrogen on soil CO2 emission in wetland and forest ecosystems was stronger than that of single nitrogen. The soil CO2 emission of some ecosystems in the southern region was mainly negative response to nitrogen forms, while that in some parts of the northern region was different in different growing seasons.Different nitrogen application methods affect soil CO2 emissions by regulating aboveground and underground ecological processes.
