The quartz aggregate was modified with the silane coupling agent KH550,and the FTIR results confirmed that KH550 molecules could be bound on the surface of quartz particles.Then,quartz aggregate(QP)and silane surface modified quartz aggregate(TQP)were used to prepare epoxy resin composites.In the viscosity curve,it can be seen that the TQP-filled blend has more pronounced shear thinning characteristics.The tensile strength and elongation at break showed that TQP-filled samples had higher strength and elongation retention when the filler/resin increased.The compressive strength test further confirmed the positive effect of KH550 functional groups on the system.In addition,the impact strength increases with the increase of filler(TQP)/resin,while the impact strength decreases significantly with the increase of QP.In the SEM micrograph,more stress whitening can be observed in the TQP-containing system,indicating a good stress dispersion effect.The modified epoxy material system was prepared into epoxy mortar material,which was used for the repair of concrete defects such as cracking,bulging and exposed ribs of highway crash walls,and the comprehensive application effect was good.
