Research on Preoperative Rehearsal System for Lung Biopsy Surgery
In order to solve the problem that the high operator requirements and risk of postoperative complications associated with percutaneous CT-guided needle biopsy(PTNB),a preoperative simulation system for lung biopsy was designed in the paper.Firstly, the important organs of the chest were segmented according to the CT images of 8 patients with lung masses, and patient-specific 3D models were built based on the segmentation results.A mesh-based deformation method was used to simulate the deformation of lung soft tissues during puncture.A preoper-ative rehearsal environment for lung biopsy surgery with haptic feedback was built on the basis of Geomagic Touch X.Before performing lung puncture, clinicians used this system to conduct lung puncture drills on these 8 patients and explore suitable puncture paths.Comparison of the preoperative results with the actual clinical biopsy results shows good agreement between the two.The subjective test result shows that the system has high degree of realism and ease of operation. In summary, the system can be used for preoperative rehearsals to assist in determining the appropriate surgical plan and to improve the efficiency of biopsy and the success rate of surgery.
