Simulation of Safe Distance Warning for Vehicle Lane Changing under Intelligent Vehicle Networking
The process of changing lanes involves lateral and longitudinal acceleration and deceleration control. If the driver does not fully consider the position and speed of surrounding vehicles,it can lead to rear end collisions, scrapes, and other accidents. In order to improve the safety of vehicle-lane changing,an early warning method under intelligent Internet of Vehicles was proposed.Firstly,a mathematical model of lateral speed and displacement of lane-changing vehicles was built.Based on driving kinematics theory and displacement function,a minimum longitudinal safe distance mathematical model was constructed.Secondly, the parabola and derivative function were calculated to obtain the minimum safe distance between the following vehicle and the front and rear vehicles on the target lane. When the distance between the target vehicle and the following vehicle is less than the safe distance, there is a risk of rear-end collision, and the system will issue a warning message. When the distance between the target vehicle and the front and rear vehicles on the target lane is less than the safe distance, there is a scraping risk, and the system will al-so issue a warning message. The experimental results show that the proposed method can issue a warning message within the actual safe distance, which effectively solves the problem of vehicle-lane changing safety. And the response time of the early warning system is kept within 5ms.
