In order to study the influence of optical cable structure on the strand breakage of optical fiber compos-ite overhead ground wire(OPGW),COMSOL Multiphysics software was used to simulate the local temperature of the lightning strike point.By simulating the lightning current A,B,C components of different sizes and changing the structure of the overhead ground wire,the strand breakage characteristics of OPGW were analyzed.The results show that among the A,B and C components of lightning current,the C component is the most destructive,and the B com-ponent is the weakest.Increasing the thickness of aluminum cladding,the number of OPGW layers and the number of inner and outer strands within a certain range can reduce the maximum temperature after lightning strike and enhance the lightning resistance of OPGW.
