How to efficiently process and analyze a large number of detection signals of construction joints is cur-rently a research difficulty. In order to improve the safety of asphalt mixture pavement, this article presented a method of detecting the flatness of construction joints.First of all,we used the least squares algorithm as the key detection al-gorithm.Because road construction detection belongs to outdoor work and the data of detection points may be affected by environmental temperature, noise,or other factors,we constructed a Butterworth filter. Moreover,we selected five adjacent points as test points, and then created a sequence including these points.Furthermore, each point in the se-quence was weighted, and then we calculated the factor changes of each point.Meanwhile,we searched for peak and valley values and smoothed them by using moving average. In addition,we used the changes in joint flatness status and the linear correlation between time and space,as well as the least squares algorithm to construct a system of equa-tions for the variation of flatness over time and space, thus calculating the unique solution as the judgment basis.Fi-nally,we set a standard value for joint flatness, and calculated the data related to the value in the preliminary test set. Thus, effective detection was achieved through comparison.Simulation results show that the proposed method has good signal processing performance and high detection accuracy. And the method is not easily affected by the environment and has strong adaptability.
