A Novel Lucky-Region Fusion Algorithm for Color Images
Lucky region fusion is an effective method to restore high resolution optical images. However, the ex-isting lucky region fusion algorithms usually rely on fixed block image selection,or use multi frame short exposure im-ages to solve the partial differential equation to get the final image. These methods need to fix the image into blocks or require a large amount of computation, which cannot meet the real-time processing requirements of practical applica-tion scenarios or accurately find the lucky areas with irregular shapes. This article proposes an algorithm that does not rely on fixed partitioning and does not require solving partial differential equations to obtain fused images, which uses edge indication functions and gain functions to find lucky regions and directly fuse them. The results show that the quality of the fused images and the speed of image fusion processing obtained by the algorithm in this paper have been significantly improved, and the resolution of images degraded by atmospheric turbulence can be improved on color im-ages without chromatic aberration.
