The Impact of Chain Owner Enterprises on the Breakthrough Innovation of Enterprises on the Chain:Based on Empirical Evidence of SRDI Enterprises
The industrial chain leading enterprises usually have advantages in terms of scale,market,technology,industry visibility and so on,and have strong externalities.This paper takes the A-share SRDI(specialized,refined,differential and innovative)enterprises in manufacturing industry from 2011 to 2022 as research samples to empirically test the impact of industrial chain leading enterprises on breakthrough innovation of SRDI enterprises from the perspective of the industrial chain.The results show that industrial chain leading enterprises significantly promote the breakthrough innovation of SRDI enterprises.The conclusion is still reliable after a series of robustness tests.The results of mechanism analyses show that the industrial chain leading enterprises have an impact on the breakthrough innovation of SRDI enterprises mainly through resource empowerment,structure empowerment and psychological empowerment.Heterogeneity analyses show that the positive impact of industrial chain leading enterprises is more significant in SRDI enterprises with lower asset management efficiency,higher second-type agency costs,and senior executives with overseas background.This paper provides an important reference for exploring new scientific and technological innovation mode of getting larger enterprises to help smaller ones and helping to accelerate the formation of new quality productivity.
