Performance of Enhanced Aerobic Fermentation Technology of Dewatered Sludge in Urban WWTPs
The municipal sludge aerobic fermentation enforced process and performance was researched in the sludge aerobic fermentation equipment with temperature feedback control system, using municipal dewatered sludge from wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)as raw material, whereas the influence of the rollover mode, the bacterium strains and the active carbon(AC)addition etc were studied. The results showed that the heating phase would be shorten while the high-temperature phase would be delayed if the rollover mode of pile was time-controlled in heating phase and was temperature-controlled in high-temperature phase.Thermophilic bacteria and AC could also increase the pile heating speed,as up to 60℃ within 12 h,and over 70℃ during the high-temperature phase. Thus, the fermented product would be accelerated to mature. Moreover, the AC enlarges the pile porosity, helping oxygen diffusing deep inside, increasing aerobic reacting efficiency,as well as reusing the abandoned waste AC of the water treatment plants(WTPs).Referring to the organic manure requirement, the fermented product was applied to the rape&the calliopsis planting experiment. It showed that the fermented product obviously increased the plants growth rate and density with robust stems&leaves. The fermented product can be recycled into landscaping, increasing soil fertility, thus realizing the sludge resource utilizing.
