Application of Improved Bardenpho and Submerged UF Process in WWTP
The design scale of the existing phase Ⅰ and phase Ⅱ project of a wastewater treatment plant(WWTP)in central China is 2×105 m3/d,and the effluent quality is required to meet the first class A criteria discharge standard of Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant(GB 18918-2002).The phase Ⅲ expansion project has a design scale of 2×105 m3/d,which is the first large-scale municipal WWTP at home to adopt the modified Bardenpho and submerged ultrafiltration membrane process. From January to December,2022,all indices of the effluent meet the first class A criteria discharge standard.Among them, the probability values of BOD5,CODCr and ammonia nitrogen are 100%,99.7%and 91.7%respectively,which meet the class Ⅲ limit specified in Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water(GB 3838-2002),and the TP in effluent meet the class Ⅳ discharge standard. The combined process demonstrates the advantages of both the biochemical treatment system and the membrane treatment system, namely strong impact load resistance and small footprint area.In the context of limited land area, stricter effluent discharge standard and increasing demand for the reuse of recycled water, the combined process has the ability to achieve higher and more stable effluent quality, and has a broad application prospect in newly-built municipal WWTPs and reconstruction and extension of existing municipal WWTPs.
