Health Assessment for Typical Central Urban Rivers in Shanghai
China's river aquatic ecology and health issues are gradually gaining attention with the continuous improvement of water environment quality.In order to grasp the water ecological status and changing trends of rivers in Shanghai central urban area,diagnose river health and identify major problems,eight typical rivers of Xuhui District were selected and the continuous tracking monitoring of river water ecological environment quality and river health assessment were carried out in different quarters.The results showed that the river had the problems of eutrophication of water bodies,low biodiversity and the proliferation of invasive alien species of Fucus snails in Xuhui District.River health status was between sub-healthy to healthy,37.5%of the rivers were healthy and 62.5%the rivers were sub-healthy.In the sub-healthy status mainly for the relatively large river scale,small rivers were mainly healthy.Therefore,medium and large river health enhancement were the focus of future attention.
