Application of Permanganate Index Tester in Multi-Source Water Supply System
At present, most domestic water supply monitoring laboratories use the national standard titration method to measure the permanganate index, which is cumbersome and prone to manual errors. However, the development and application research of instrument detection methods are still not systematic and comprehensive. This paper established an instrument detection method suitable for measuring the permanganate index in drinking water, seawater desalination water, and source water through experimental screening of the heating time, heating power, temperature compensation, titration zone temperature and other conditional parameters of the intelligent permanganate index measuring instrument, and explores the laws and reasons affected by altitude conditions. The study used this instrument method to determine pure water with low, medium, and high concentrations and actual water quality control samples. The experimental results showed that the relative standard deviation was 0.35%~4.55%,and the recovery rate was 87.9%~104.6%,all of which were better than the national standard titration method. In addition, this method was applied to the determination of permanganate index in actual samples, and its relative deviation from the national standard titration method was 0.60%~3.39%.Two batches of 50 actual water samples were tested continuously, with standard deviations of 3.37%and 3.77%,respectively.Its detection limit, lower detection limit, precision, accuracy, and stability can meet the requirements for continuous detection of permanganate index in multiple types of water samples such as drinking water, desalinated seawater, and raw water, and has broad practical application prospects.
