Exploring the Resource and Environmental Properties of Sludge from WTPs of the Yangtze River Water Source
This study selected sludge from two Yangtze River WTPs as tracking objects to analyze their resource and environmental properties,to provide data support for clarifying their treatment and disposal risks and feasibility. The results showed that the sludge from two WTPs had high temperatures and low pH in summer and autumn, and low temperatures and high pH in winter and spring.Through correlation analysis,it could be concluded that the correlation between its organic matter content and the organic matter content of the incoming raw water was not high, but it was highly correlated with the organic content. Therefore, measuring the organic content could be used as one of the criteria to judge the level of organic content. The pollution indices of the sludge and the emission indices of atmospheric pollutants near its storage area were generally better than the limits specified in various standards, thus it could be applied to various types of resource utilization scenarios.Meantime, its particle size distribution is close to that of clay, loam,or silt, with inorganic components mainly composed of SiO2,Al2O3,and Fe2O3,which can be widely used as a type of clay raw material for resource disposal.
