Methods for Diagnosing Problems in Sewage Pipeline Systems under High Water Levels
The main sewage pipe network in many domestic cities typically operates at a high water level, posing challenges for diagnosing pipe network issues, impacting operation and maintenance work, and compromising the effective collection and transportation of sewage.Drawing on the experience from the Dongguan main sewage pipe network problem diagnosis project, this study comprehensively employed innovative methods such as on-site investigation, river dewatering and water level monitoring,as well as big data analysis of online water quality monitoring to assess the operational status of the main sewage pipe network supporting urban sewage treatment plants and identify system defects. The project successfully identified 83 joint points between rivers and sewage pipes,3 severe pipeline blockages, and 3 instances of significant external water infiltration into pipelines. These findings effectively guided operation and maintenance activities.By diversifying diagnostic methods through fusion innovation and conducting comprehensive analysis of problems associated with high water level operation in sewage pipe networks(e.g.,blockages in the pipe network or connections between rivers and pipes),the diagnostic accuracy and efficiency can be enhanced a crucial aspect for improving the quality and efficiency of sewer systems.
