Analysis of Organic Matter Removal and Nitrogen Removal Performance of a WWTP
The organic matter removal and denitrification performance of AAO bioreactor-secondary sedimentation tank-terminal sedimentation tank-first-stage activated coke adsorption tank-second-stage activated coke adsorption tank process in anindustrial wastewater treatment plant(WWTP)was investigated, and the variations and removal of dissolved organic matter were analyzed by three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy techniques. The results showed that the particulate, colloidal and soluble CODCr in the influent account for 25.6%and 74.4%of the total CODCr,respectively, the biodegradable and inert organics accounted for 39.6%and 60.4%of the total CODCr in the inlet, respectively, and that the biological tank had limited effect on the removal of refractory organics, which mainly depended on the adsorption of two-stage activated coke, the dissolved CODCr concentration in the effluent drops to 35.2 mg/L.The nitrification and denitrification capacities of activated sludge were low, with nitrification and denitrification rates of 0.34 mg N/(g SS·h)and 0.77 mg N/(g SS·h),respectively.
