Tailoring Kitchen Waste Leachate Remediation with Integrated Pretreatment,Anaerobic Digestion,MAP and Biological Denitrification for High-Efficiency Treatment
The food waste leachate from a district of Shanghai contains a large amount of oil and suspended solids, and also obtains high concentration of organic matter, ammonia and total phosphorus, thus belonging to refractory organic wastewater. In this project, the combined process of pretreatment-anaerobic treatment-magnesium ammonium phosphate(MAP)reactor-biological denitrification was used to treat food waste leachate, and the daily treatment capacity reach 100 m3/d.The three-phase separator is applied in pretreatment to separate scum and grease.Two-stage anaerobic treatment process is utilized to enhance degradation and removal of organic matter. The combined treatment process had a strong resistance to impact load of influent wastewater. The project operation shows that the average CODCr mass concentration of the effluent from the combined treatment process is 245 mg/L,the ammonia nitrogen mass concentration is 6 mg/L,the total nitrogen mass concentration is 40 mg/L,and the total phosphorus mass concentration is 4 mg/L,which meets the three-level management standard of the Shanghai Integrated Sewage Discharge Standard(DB 31/199-2018).The cost for each ton of wastewater treatment is only 134.57 yuan, which indicates that the combined process of pretreatment-anaerobic treatment-MAP-biological denitrification is an effective method for treating food waste leachate.
