Summary of Safety Design Countermeasures for an Underground WWTP in Jiangsu Province
In order to solve the neighboring WWTP effect of wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)and take full advantage of the above-ground space for collaborative development,a with a scale of 200 000 m3/d in Jiangsu Province adopts the method of underground and intensive design. This paper summarizes the safety countermeasures adopted in the design of this underground WWTP.In the first, the safety risks faced by the WWTP are analyzed from the aspects of fire protection, flood prevention and drainage, power outage in the plant area and drug leakage. In view of each aspect of risk, the design principles, concepts and design schemes are introduced. The fire protection of the structural box is analyzed from the perspectives of general layout transportation, fire alarm system, fire protection facilities, safe evacuation, lighting and so forth.Flood control and drainage are designed from the flood season corresponding measures and the discharge is not timely overflow. The power outage in the underground plant area is considered from three aspects, water inlet and outlet, emergency power supply and automatic control instrument. The drug safety measures of the underground dosing room and how the drainage system prevents the discharge of substandard water during the accident are both taken into account from the aspect of drug leakage. In the meantime, combined with the design schemes, operation experiences of some built underground WWTPs,the design details are optimized, and the engineering characteristics are summarized to provide references for other similar projects.
