Large Underwater Photo-mosaics Display Based on Dynamic Nested Pyramid Model
In deep seafloor exploration,it is common to stitch multiple images into a photo-mosaic which could reach tens of billions of pixels. The display problem of large underwater photo-mosaics needs to be solved urgently due to the limitations of soft-ware,hardware and their personalized requirements. When tile pyramid model is applied to display large underwater images,aim-ing at the problems of discontinuous image transition and significant picture jump during resolution switching,a new dynamic nest-ed pyramid model is proposed by improved the model.Taking the underwater data set as an example, the display effect of improved model and traditional model is analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The experimental results show that improved model level is delayed from 1 to 2,the change rate of tile number and visual field are reduced to original 0.5 times when the same size image is changed.Visually, the image transition is more continuous based on the new model, which verifies the effectiveness of the model and provides important theoretical basis for large underwater photo-mosaics display.
