The Impact Analysis of Excavation of Foundation Pits in Soft Soil Areas on Adjacent Tunnels and Buildings
Considering that the excavation of soft soil foundation pits in cities will have an impact on adjacent buildings and structures, this paper uses the finite element software Midas GTS NX to simulate the impact of soft soil excavation on site deformation, adjacent tunnels, and buildings. The research results indicate that in the excavation of foundation pits in soft soil areas, the site displacement, horizontal and vertical displacement of adjacent tunnels and building structures gradually increase with the increase of excavation depth. The deformation caused by foundation pit dewatering accounts for a large proportion of the total deformation. When conducting numerical calculations for excavation of foundation pits in soft soil areas,it is recommended that the distance between the boundary and the pit edge should reach a depth of 8 to 10 times the excavation depth of the foundation pit.
