Research of Soil Deformation Induced by Slurry Trenching of Ultra-deep Diaphragm Wall in Yangtze River Floodplain
Currently the soil deformations induced by slurry trenching are typically neglected in the engineering design. When the surrounding environment is sensitive, the deformations deserve further attention.Focusing on the soil deformation induced by slurry trenching of ultra-deep diaphragm wall in Yangtze River floodplain, finite element model of slurry trenching was built, based on the first-stage project of underground space in Jiangbei New Area,Nanjing. The induced ground settlement and lateral displacement of soil during slurry trenching were computed, with the development patterns of soil deformations, the effects of slurry trench reinforcement and overload analyzed. The results indicate that the ground settlement and lateral displacement of soil within the range of reinforcement mainly develop in the early stages of slurry trenching.Trenching in the relatively higher depth has limited effects on the soil in the lower depth. The overload is the main cause of the ground settlement, whereas it slightly affects the lateral displacement of soil above the depth of 13 m.When the overload is 50 kPa,the maximum ground settlement and lateral displacement of soil within the range of reinforcement can be reduced by 37.3%and 61.3%respectively under the effects of the slurry trench reinforcement.
