Analysis of the Relationship between Global Seismic Hazard Map and Seismic Precautionary Intensity
Seismic precautionary intensity is a fundamental parameter for seismic design of buildings. For many foreign engineering construction projects there are no seismic design codes being executed or referenced in those countries,it results in a lack of corresponding basis for ground investigation and design of structures in the early stage of the projects. The Global Seismic Hazard Map released by the open-source platform of Global Earthquake Model is briefly introduced in this paper.By analyzing the relationship between its benchmark site and the site category in Chinese codes, the corresponding relationship is discussed that is between the peak ground acceleration which is obtained in the Global Seismic Hazard Map and seismic precautionary intensity. It provides reference basis for the geotechnical investigation and seismic design of foreign engineering construction projects.
