Exploration of Regional Renewal Strategies from Perspective of Protecting Historical and Cultural Cities——Taking the areas on both sides of Beimen Street in Huai'an District,Huai'an City as example
Historical and cultural cities,as the crystallization of human wisdom,carry the history,culture,and natural environmental resources of a city,which are important components of cultural heritage.Urban renewal is an important means to promote the high-quality development of historical and cultural cities in the new era.The article is based on the practice of protecting and updating the historical and cultural city of Huai'an,and takes the areas on both sides of Beimen Street as example.The article first traces the development process of Beimen Street,analyzes the resource advantages and existing problems of the area,then determines its development positioning,and finally proposes four major updating strategies,namely"regional coordination","functional improvement","cultural inheritance",and"green landscape",which could provide reference for similar renewal and development work in context of protecting historical and cultural cities.
