China's Promotion Mechanism for Russian Rail Transit Construction in Context of "Belt and Road" Background
Under the Belt and Road Initiative,China has penetrated into the rail transit construction in Russia and exerted a significant driving force.Existing literature and reports both at home and abroad have confirmed China's practical capabilities in Russia's rail transit projects.However,the intrinsic mechanisms driving urban development are yet to be explored.Based on case studies,this paper systematically analyzes the specific mechanisms by which China promotes Russia's rail transit construction from two aspects:urban environment as well as economic and social benefits.From above mechanisms,the paper proposes optimized suggestions,including advocating for life cycle energy conservation and carbon reduction,promoting intensive and compact development in the rail transit impact areas,strengthening in-depth cooperation in the rail transit industry chain,focusing on efficient connectivity of station accessibility,which could provide reference and guidance for China's advancement in international rail transit construction in context of the Belt and Road Initiative.
