Impact of Community Built Environment on Children's Independent Outdoor Activities——Case study of Xicheng Community in Zhuhai City
From the perspective of community built environment,this article explores which factors significantly affect children's independent outdoor activities?How do they affect children's independent outdoor activities?Based on questionnaires collection of basic information and sub-jective perception data of 6-12 year old school-age children,as well as on-site investigations and Baidu Maps to obtain objective built environment data,this article uses an ordered logistic model to explore both subjective and objective influencing factors of built environment on children's in-dependent outdoor activities.The results showed that after controlling for individual characteristics and parental approval attitudes,the objective number of activity venues,park distance,number of pedestrian crossings in the built environment,and the subjective perception of traffic safety and place attractiveness in the built environment had a significant positive impact on children's independent outdoor activities.Based on the re-search results,this article proposes suggestions from the perspectives of optimizing facility accessibility,improving road connectivity,and enhanc-ing venue attractiveness,in order to provide some reference for empirical research on the construction of child friendly communities in China.
