Support Design and Stress Analysis for Removal of Multi-span Flexible Tied Arch Bridge
With the rapid development of urban transportation in China, the traffic volume is increasing day by day. Some main roads are no longer able to meet the transportation needs of fast travel due to bridge load and speed restrictions, therefore the number of urban bridge renovation and expansion projects is gradually increasing. The demolition of existing bridges is a reverse construction process compared to the construction of new bridges, which has characteristics such as high safety risks, high construction difficulty, and complex working environment.Similar projects at home and abroad are also scarce for reference. This article focuses on the demolition of a flexible tied arch bridge that was removed and rebuilt during the construction process of the Shaoxing Smart Expressway.Through the design of the dismantling bracket, the stress redistribution after the suspension rod cutting, and the stress monitoring data of the supports during the demolition process,a study on similar bridge demolition technology is formed, providing reference basis for the demolition of specialized bridges.
