Experimental Study on Mechanical Properties of Porous Basalt in Dry and Saturated State
The porous basalt has typical honeycomb pore structure. In order to study its engineering characteristics, the pore characteristics of porous basalt are firstly analyzed in this paper, and uniaxial compressive test,Brazilian splitting test and direct shear test are carried out under dry and saturated conditions. The results show that the porous basalt has a large number of unevenly distributed pores, which have a great influence on the mechanical properties of the rock. The uniaxial compressive and tensile strength, angle of internal friction and cohesive force of porous basalt all decrease in different degrees under satu-rated condition. The destruction form is also obviously different from the dry state. The softening coefficient of splitting test is lower than that of uniaxial compressive test.Porous basalt has high porosity, and its softening mechanism mainly lies in the weakening of pore water pressure and friction of mineral particles. The saturated state has obvious influence on the deformation, strength and failure characteristics of porous basalt.
