The mineral composition of the iron ore in JISCO concentrator is complex,the ore grade is low,and the associ-ated components are more.Its magnetic concentrate has low iron grade and high gangue mineral content such as quartz,which belongs to the refractory iron ore.The roasted magnetic concentrate is treated by reverse flotation process in JISCO concentra-tor.The new normal temperature reverse flotation collector DPY-4 can improve the grade and recovery of iron ore,and is an ef-ficient reverse flotation agent for iron ore which is difficult to be selected.In order to study the separation effectiveness of the collector for the ore,systematic beneficiation tests and mechanism analysis were carried out.Pure mineral flotation condition tests were carried out on quartz and magnetite.In the DPY-4 flotation system,when pH of 5,temperature of 25℃,DPY-4 dos-age of 20 mg/L and inhibitor corn starch dosage of 40 mg/L,the recovery rates of quartz and magnetite are 92.51%and 4.46%,respectively.Reverse flotation tests were carried out on the three-stage magnetic concentrate after suspension magnetiza-tion roasting in Jiusteel concentrating plant.Under the slurry temperature of 25℃,the dosage of DPY-4 of 300 g/t,the dosage of corn starch of 600 g/t,and pH of 9.5,the iron grade and recovery rate of the open-circuit flotation concentrate were 60.48%and 69.24%.The iron grade of the closed-circuit flotation concentrate is 58.35%,the iron recovery rate is 94.05%,and the SiO2 content is 4.62%.DPY-4 not only showed strong harvesting ability,but also excellent selectivity.This is mainly due to the strong adsorption of DPY-4 on the quartz surface,including physical adsorption and hydrogen bond adsorption,while the ad-sorption of corn starch on the quartz surface is weak,and the effect of magnetite is opposite.
