Effect of 2-ethylhexyl Phosphate on Flotation Behavior of Fluorite and Calcite and Mechanism Study
Fluorite is often associated with gangue minerals such as calcite, and both surfaces have Ca active sites,mak-ing it difficult for fatty acid collectors to selectively adsorb on the surface of fluorite.Previous experiments have found that phos-phate esters have selective collecting ability for fluorite, and the collecting ability is strong, which is beneficial to the separation of fluorite and calcite. The effect of 2-ethylhexyl phosphate(2ZHP)on the flotation behavior of fluorite and calcite was studied by flotation test, and the mechanism of the reagent was explored by Zeta potential, infrared spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and other analytical methods. The results show that fluorite has better floatability when 0.75×10-5 mol/L 2ZHP is added at pH 4~7.Fluorite has good floatability, which is quite different from that of calcite, which is conducive to the flotation separation of fluorite and calcite.2ZHP can have different degrees of chemical adsorption on the surface of fluorite and calcite. There are many calcium active sites on the surface of fluorite, which leads to the larger adsorption capacity of fluorite to the a-gent than that of calcite, which is the main reason for the better flotation effect of fluorite than that of calcite.
