The Properties of Rubidium Minerals in a Granite Pegmatite Lithium Ore and the Recovery of Rubidium-bearing Mica
Muscovite and microcline are the main rubidium-bearing minerals in 509 Daobanxi granitic pegmatite-type lithium polymetallic ore in Kunlun. In order to recover rubidium preferentially and efficiently without affecting the recovery of the main metal mineral spodumene, the mineralogical study of rubidium-bearing minerals and the flotation test of muscovite were carried out.The results show that there are many kinds of feldspar minerals in the ore, mainly albite, and it is difficult to separate microcline from it.Therefore, muscovite is a recoverable rubidium-bearing mineral in the ore.The disseminated parti-cle size of muscovite is uneven and mostly fine, which is closely related to the dissemination of gangue minerals such as albite. It should be recovered by flotation process under the condition of full grinding, but the strong alkaline environment should be a-voided to ensure that the subsequent lithium flotation is not affected.A muscovite concentrate with Rb2 O grade of 0.65%is ob-tained by one roughing-two cleaning-two scavenging closed-circuit flotation process with GYMN as inhibitor and GYR-3 as col-lector under the condition of sodium carbonate slurry adjustment and grinding fineness of-0.074 mm accounting for 71.5%.The recovery rate of rubidium in muscovite is 81.83%.The flotation of muscovite creates favorable conditions for the subse-quent flotation of spodumene.
