Microwave-assisted Acid Leaching Test of Rare Earth Elements and Phosphorus in an Associated Rare Earth Phosphate Rock
The phenomenon of associated rare earth elements in phosphate rock is common, and some associated rare earth elements have the value of development and utilization. The main minerals in a phosphate rock are apatite, dolomite and a small amount of quartz. The rare earth elements mainly exist in the form of homogeneous anomaly ion replacement in phosphate minerals. The contents of P2 O5 and REO are 22.04%and 0.11%,respectively,which have high development and utilization value. In order to realize the efficient recovery of the phosphate rock resources, the thermodynamic calculation of the leaching process proves that apatite is easy to react with hydrochloric acid at 0~200℃.Based on the fact that rare earth elements and phosphorus can enter the solution by acid leaching, the microwave radiation-assisted hydrochloric acid leaching of rare earth el-ements and phosphorus from representative ore samples was carried out.The results show that under the conditions of micro-wave radiation power 600 W,microwave leaching temperature 50℃,liquid-solid ratio 8 mL/g,reaction time 60 min and hydro-chloric acid concentration 8 mol/L,the leaching rates of rare earth elements and phosphorus are 98.32%and 98.65%,respec-tively.The complete leaching of rare earth elements and phosphorus in phosphate rock is almost realized.Compared with con-ventional heating acid leaching, microwave radiation assisted leaching can significantly shorten the leaching time at the same leaching rate. The research results can be used as the basis for the development and utilization of the phosphate rock resources.
