Discussion of key technologies for ABSL-3 and ABSL-4 of large animals
A comparative analysis was conducted on three key technologies for the treatment of live virus wastewater from large animal biosafety experiments, the disposal of large animal carcasses, and the sealing of pipelines through walls. It was suggested that using a heat exchanger cooling combined with di-rect steam injection for a sequential batch process of live virus wastewater treatment, employing vertical shredding integrated with high temperature and high pressure sterilization for the disposal of large animal carcasses, and adopting onion ring-shaped or modular pipeline penetration sealing elements are more suit-able for the process requirements of high-level large animal biosafety laboratories. These approaches pro-vide certain guidance and reference for the treatment of wastewater and waste in similar engineering pro-jects,as well as for the sealing of the experimental environment.
