Bioconversion technology is an important route to transform organic solid wastes into high value products.This work herein proposed the biostimulants and their agricultural functions in bioconver-sion of organic wastes.Humic substances,beneficial microorganisms and metabolites,protein hydroly-sates,macroelements and microelements,as the dominant biostimulants in the bioconversion of organic wastes,can be used as a supplement or partial replacement of fertilizer to improve crop productivity and quality,and enhance plant resistance to environmental stress.In addition,the complexity of the biostimu-lants synthesis and action mechanisms during the bioconversion process were discussed,as well as the ex-isting knowledge gaps,challenges,and opportunities.More perfect theoretical research foundation was needed to establish in order to give full play to the potential and agricultural application value of organic solid waste bioconversion technology in the future.
