The roof of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is a spiral semi-circular rota-ting roof,and the waterproofing renovation project is the focus of this project.The main goal is to replace the original flat structure aluminum sheet roof with a more complete vertical locking edge structure aluminum magnesium manganese alloy roof with more waterproof functions.The renova-ted roof structure brings two difficulties to roof drainage:First,whether there is a situation where rainwater flows from one vertical locking edge to another downstream vertical locking edge.And second,whether upstream rainwater will cross the outer arc gutter and flow downstream,causing overload drainage of the inner arc gutter downstream.The project team verified the above two key issues through two methods:hydraulic theory analysis,calculation,and hydraulic testing,and provided constructive suggestions for the roof waterproofing maintenance project of Shanghai Sci-ence and Technology Museum.
