Research on the effectiveness of thermal insulation and isolation for ancient building fires using coiling-type fine water mist device
Due to its unique historical and archaeological, aesthetic and artistic, and scientific and cultural value, ancient architecture has been widely cherished by society. However, ancient buildings are mostly made of brick and wood,or purely wood, and are arranged in groups. The buildings are connected to each other without any fire separation distance. There are no fire exits within the group of buildings, and the fire prevention zones are not sufficiently clear. After a fire starts,it spreads rapidly. It is difficult to effectively insulate and block the fire with commonly used fire boards, firewalls, etc. The fine water mist isolation device has been applied in industrial locations such as tunnels due to its extremely small mist droplets and good insulation and isolation effects. This article verifies the effectiveness of the coiling-type fine water mist device in thermal insulation and isolation of wooden buildings through physical experiments, providing experimental data support for the fire safety protection of ancient wooden buildings.
