Pump group setting parameters for parallel water supply systems with pumps
In supply or circulation water systems operating at full frequency with parallel pump sets, the rated head of the pumps is selected based on the head after paralleling, and the rated flow can be deter-mined by evenly distributing the total flow after paralleling among the pumps.During parallel operation, the head of each pump does not exceed the rated head, and the flow does not decrease below the rated flow. However,in single pump operation, the head of the pump decreases compared to the rated value, and the flow increases accordingly, leading to an increase in power consumption compared to the rated val-ue.The power configuration of each pump in the parallel pump set should consider the increased power during single pump operation. It is challenging to achieve complete symmetry in pressure variations across the parallel lines of the parallel pump set, which results in a small loss of parallel flow, and this should be taken into account when selecting pumps.
