Effect of heat treatment on microstructure and properties of 2205 duplex stainless steel
Microstructure and properties of 2205 duplex stainless steel after holding at different temperatures for different time were studied by means of optical microscope, microhardness tester and electrochemical workstation, and the changes in the ratio of γ and α phases and precipitates of the experimental steel after different heat treatments were analyzed. The results show that the initial content of α and γ phases in the 2205 duplex stainless steel is 41.2%and 58.8%,respectively.When the holding time is the same,as the heat treatment temperature increases, the content of γ phase decreases, the content of σ phase first increases and then decreases, the hardness increases, and the corrosion potential first decreases and then increases. When the holding temperature is the same,as the holding time increases from 0.5-2 h,the content of γ phase and σ phase increases, with an increment of 2.43%to 3.87%for γ phase and 0.05%to 0.08%for σ phase, the grain size tends to grow, the hardness gradually decreases, and the corrosion potential generally decreases. When the heating temperature is 950℃ and 1000℃,the decrease in hardness is more significant with increasing holding time. The increase in α phase content and α/γ ratio is the main reason for the decrease in corrosion resistance of the 2205 duplex stainless steel.
