Research status of elastocaloric refrigeration effect of Ni-Mn based magnetic shape memory alloys
Elastocaloric refrigeration not only has large and reversible temperature changes,but also has simpler driving methods.It also has the characteristics of environmental friendly,high efficiency and energy conservation,thereby striking a balance among cost,refrigeration capacity,efficiency and feasibility,thus it is expected to become one of the candidates to replace traditional vapor compression cooling technology.This article reviews the research progress of elastocaloric refrigeration effect of Ni-Mn based magnetic shape memory alloys,and summarizes the research results on improving and optimizing the elastocaloric refrigeration effects of the Ni-Mn based alloys in recent years from various aspects such as doping alloy elements,heat treatment methods and preparation processes.However,the research on the Ni-Mn based alloys elastocaloric refrigeration materials is still in the exploratory stage,and further profound research is needed to achieve their practical applications.The future research focus should be on reducing driving energy consumption,improving fatigue life and cycle stability,improving adiabatic temperature alteration capabilities and optimizing heat transfer efficiency.
