Tribological properties of bearings with conductive grease under current-carrying condition
Two types of conductive lubricating greases were prepared using carbon nanotubes and nano conductive carbon black as additives. The physical and chemical properties of the two types of conductive lubricating greases were tested, including drop point, thermogravimetric analysis and oxidation resistance.Based on the self-developed bearing current carrying friction test bench, the bearing bench tests were conducted to observe and study the current carrying friction characteristics of the bearings, and to explore the influence of lubricating grease performance on the electrical corrosion resistance of the bearings. The results show that for the grease with carbon nanotubes added, the dropping point is not decreased, the thermal decomposition temperature increases, the oxidation induction period is extended by about 44%,the friction coefficient and wear spot diameter are not changed significantly, and the wear volume decreases by about 50%.For the grease with nano conductive carbon black added, the dropping point decreases by about 40 ℃,the thermal decomposition temperature decreases by about 3 ℃,the oxidation induction period is extended by about 4%,the friction coefficient and wear spot diameter are not changed significantly, and the wear volume decreases by about 90%.Both types of lubricating greases can effectively reduce the degree of electrical corrosion of bearings.
