Effect of rare earth alloying on superplastic deformation behavior of titanium alloy laser welded joint
By adding Yb2O3 to the TC4 titanium alloy laser weld to improve the uniformity of superplastic deformation of the joint, the effect of Yb2O3 on microstructure of the weld before and after superplastic deformation was observed, and the evolution process of the microstructure during superplastic deformation was characterized by equiaxed coefficient. The results show that the addition of Yb2O3 can improve the superplasticity of the weld, thereby improving the deformation uniformity of the joint. The addition of Yb2O3 can reduce the original β grain size of the weld, promote the equiaxed process of the acicular structure of the weld, and promote the superplastic deformation. As the Yb2O3 content increases, its effect shows a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. When the Yb2O3 content is 6 mass%,the effect is the best, the elongation of the weld reaches the maximum of 54.8%,the deformation coordination coefficient K reaches the maximum of 0.21,the β grain size reaches the minimum of 308 μm,and the equiaxed coefficient J reaches the maximum of 0.26.
