Analysis on Hospital Expenses of 1093 Diabetic Patients and Influencing Factors of West-ern Medicine Cost in a Guizhou Certain Grade A Tertiary Public Hospital
Objective:To analyze the influencing factors of hospitalization cost and western medicine cost for diabetic patients in a certain grade A tertiary hospital in Guizhou Province,so as to provide reference for reducing the economic burden of patients,further optimizing the medical insurance policy and improving the public awareness of disease prevention.Method:The data of 1 093 patients with diabetes mellitus in the hospital in 2022 were collected.The influencing factors of total inpatient expenses were analyzed by step-wise regression analysis,and the influencing factors of western medicine expenses were analyzed by Kruskal-Walli rank sum test.Re-sult:The median total inpatient expenses of diabetic patients in a third-class A hospital in Guizhou Province was 17,158.24 yuan,and the cost of western medicine had the greatest impact on the total inpatient expenses(P<0.05).There were statistically significant dif-ferences in hospitalization costs of diabetes patients with different gender,age,hospitalization days,diagnosis and complications(P<0.05).Conclusion:The hospitalization cost of diabetes patients in Guizhou Province is relatively high.We can control the cost of west-ern medicine by implementing clinical pathway management and improving medical insurance policy,so as to gradually raise the pub-lic awareness of preventing diabetic diseases and reasonably control the direct economic burden of diseases.
