The Mediating Effect of Compassion Fatigue on Care Deficits
Objective:Investigate the perceived level of management care,empathy fatigue,and nursing deficiency among dermatol-ogy nurses,explore the relationship between nurses'perceived level of management care,empathy fatigue,and nursing deficiency,and analyze the mediating effect of empathy fatigue on management care and nursing deficiency.Method:A convenient sampling method was used to select 406 dermatology nurses from 22 cities in 10 provinces across China as the survey subjects.The Chinese version of the management Care Assessment Scale,Compassion Fatigue Scale,and Nursing Deficiency Scale were used for the survey.Result:The perceived management care score of dermatology nurses was(135.46±27.11)points;The score of the Compassion Fatigue Scale is(77.82±19.18)points;The score for nursing deficiency is(33.49±12.68).The management care of dermatology nurses is negatively correlated with empathy fatigue(r=-0.51,P＜0.05)and negatively correlated with nursing deficiency(r=-0.12,P＜0.05).Compassion-ate fatigue plays a mediating role in the impact of management care on nursing deficiency.Conclusion:Nursing care perceived by nurs-es in dermatology department has a significant effect on nursing deficit,and the subjective factor of compassion fatigue plays a mediat-ing role in it,and then affect the occurrence of nursing loss.
