Progress of research on co-factors for cervical cancer caused by human papilloma virus infection
As a great threat to woman health, cervical cancer has attracted worldwide attention.Previous studies have demonstra-ted that the development of cervical cancer is associated with genetic factors, life style and biological factors, and persistent infection with human papilloma virus(HPV),notably high-risk HPV,is accepted as a major contributor to cervical cancer development and progression.Nevertheless, persistent HPV infection is not the only determinant of cervical cancer, which requires a synergistic effect with multiple factors, such as persistent high-risk PHV infection complicated by microflora imbalance in vaginal and cervical microen-vironments.This review describes an overview of HPV infection and other co-factors,including HPV type,E6 and E7 protein expres-sion,and vaginal and cervical microenvironments.
